The traffic management in the tri-cities of Warangal-Hanamkonda-Kazipet would be improved to suit the status of police Commissionerate and the changing needs of public, said the Warangal Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu.
He said they received a report of a survey conducted on traffic and signal management by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) on Monday. The Commissionerate has engaged the BEL to study and submit a report on the present system of traffic management in the tri-cities and how it could be improved.
The BEL which executed traffic management systems in the cities like Hyderabad and Bengaluru has conducted a detailed study of 19 important traffic junctions in the tri-cities with the help of a team of experts.
The company general manager Narsimha Rao has handed over the report to the Commissioner Sudheer Babu at his chambers at the district police headquarters in Hanamkonda.
Speaking on the occasion, the commissioner said the report would be studied and proper measures would be taken to revamp the present traffic system.
Additional DCP M Yadaiah and ACP (Traffic) Mr Venkateshwara Rao were present.
